Pharmacy Residency

The Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1)
Pharmacy Residency Program

The Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program is based at The Jewish Hospital.  The Jewish Hospital, located in Kenwood – a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio is a 200-bed acute-care teaching hospital.  In 2010, The Jewish Hospital joined Mercy Health Partners, a division of Catholic Health Partners.

The Jewish Hospital Department of Pharmacy strives to deliver safe and optimal patient care by promoting education, collaboration with other disciplines, and excellence within the profession and practice of pharmacy.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is structured according to ASHP’s Residency Learning System, and offers a combination of core and elective rotation opportunities to provide the resident with a selection of experiences to learn from.  The Jewish Hospital has provided an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program since 2004 alongside The Health Alliance as a multi-site program.

The new partnership with Mercy Health Partners has placed the PGY1 residency program at The Jewish Hospital in a transition period for the 2011-2012 year, resulting in “candidate status” for ASHP re-accreditation as a single-entity site.  Following re-accreditation, residents completing the residency program during “candidate status” will also receive retro-accreditation.  The Jewish Hospital will be participating in the match process, and we look forward to accepting and interviewing potential residency candidates.
