Cary Copeland, MD
Cary Copeland, MD, is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He received his
bachelor of science in Zoology from Ohio State University in 1982.
He worked as a personal trainer for several years before and while
obtaining his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from the Ohio College
of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998. He completed his
residency training at Kern Hospital, the founding surgical residency
program for the podiatric profession, located in Warren, Michigan.
While in his residency training, Dr. Copeland was a member of Pi Delta
National Podiatry Honor Society. In 1990, he came to Cincinnati to
join a podiatry practice and in 1993, opened his own practice.
Dr. Copeland is a Fellow of The American College of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons and has been an adjunct faculty to the Ohio College of Podiatric
Medicine since 1996. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical
Association, the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association and a Diplomat
of the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons. He has published articles
in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
In 1994, Dr. Copeland became co-director of the Podiatric Surgical
Residency Program at Jewish Hospital and has been sole director of
the program since 1996. He has been a member of the teaching staff
since 1993 and has presented lectures to include ulcer management,
treatment of soft tissue infections, special radiographics and diagnosis
and care of sports injuries of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Copeland is married to Lori Springer Copeland. They have two sons,
Brett and Jeremy. Dr. Copeland has enjoyed playing the saxophone since
age 11 and is an avid weight lifter.
