Teresa Schleimer, MSN, CNP
Teresa Schleimer, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, has resided in
Cincinnati for the past ten years. Prior to her living here, she has
called Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cleveland, Ohio, home. She graduated
from Lumberton Senior High School in Lumberton, North Carolina. Teresa
earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University in 1975,
and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati
in 1998.
Teresa has been affiliated with Jewish Hospital almost the entire time
she has resided in Cincinnati. She has held a variety of positions
within the institution: staff nurse, clinical coordinator, clinical
nurse specialist and ICU nurse practitioner. Throughout her career
she has focused on the care of the critical care patient, continuing
to practice on a limited basis in the ICU as a nurse practitioner.
As Administrative Director, Teresa oversees the activities of the general
surgery and podiatry residency programs. She helps to facilitate the
department’s midlevel practitioner program that encompasses the
surgical assistants, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Teresa is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society for Nursing,
American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Ohio Association of Advanced
Practice Nurses and American College of Nurse Practitioners. She has
been active on the board of the local chapter of the AACN as its treasurer
and as a member of the organization’s workshop committee. She
has served as an item writer for the organization’s national
certifying examination for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.
Her national certifications include Critical Care Registered Nurse
(CCRN) and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP). She has successfully
completed the Society of Critical Care Medicine FCCS program.
Teresa is married to Wayne Schleimer of Cleveland, Ohio. They have
two children, a son, David and a
daughter, Bevin.
