Medical Director, The Cholesterol and Metabolism Center

Charles Glueck, M.D., has devoted his 40-year career to clinical research and patient care in the prevention of heart attacks and strokes, and in the last decade to clinical research and patient care in clotting disorders, ocular thrombosis, osteonecrosis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, amaurosis fugax, sporadic and recurrent miscarriage. Dr. Glueck has authored over 600 scientific papers and was an established investigator for the American Heart Association. He authored the chapter on cholesterol and heart disease in the Merck Geriatric Manual. Dr. Glueck specializes in the practical, achievable, safe and effective ways to prevent heart attack and strokes in older Americans. Dr. Glueck sees patients Monday through Friday and one Saturday a month.

Naila Goldenberg, M.D. top of page

Associate Medical Director, The Cholesterol and Metabolism Center

Naila Goldenberg, M.D., previously worked at the Cholesterol Center from 2002 to 2004 and has co-authored several research papers with Dr. Charles Glueck. Dr. Goldenberg went to University of Michigan for clinical and research Endocrinology Fellowship. She co-authored the “Endocrine Disorders” in “Clinical Men’s Health: Evidence in Practice” book and presented several abstracts at Endocrine Society Meetings. She returned to the Cholesterol and Metabolism Center as associate medical director in July 2007. She sees patients Monday – Thursday and volunteers her time to Cincinnati University Endocrinology Clinic on Fridays. Her clinical interests are lipid disorders and general endocrinology.

James E. Lang, M.D. top of page

Dr. Lang has been with the Cholesterol and Metabolism Center since 1988. He attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed his residency at the Jewish Hospital. Dr. Lang specializes in Internal Medicine and participates in the Center’s ongoing clinical research publication efforts. He sees patients on Friday mornings.

Dr. LeAnn Coberly has been with The Cholesterol and Metabolism Center since 1999. She is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center and also the Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Her clinical interests include nutrition, exercise and wellness. She sees patients on Friday mornings.
