The Rotating Platform Knee: Options in Knee Replacement Surgery
Is knee pain affecting how you enjoy your life? It doesn't have to. Attend this seminar to learn more about the Rotating Platform knee.
The Rotating Platform knee, also called a mobile bearing knee, is the only knee implant in the United States designed to bend and rotate, helping to accommodate more normal movement. Women may be especially interested in this new technology since their knees rotate more than those of a man during normal movement. Rotating Platform knees are designed for patients who want their knee replacement to accommodate normal movement while significantly minimizing implant wear. Minimizing implant wear can help your knee replacement last longer.

Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) surgery offers an alternative to total hip replacement surgery for patients suffering from hip pain caused by osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia or avascular necrosis. BHR is intended to relieve hip pain and improve hip function in patients who have adequate bone stock and wish to continue leading an active life. Typical candidates for this surgery are adults under the age of 60 who may not be best suited for total hip replacement due to an increased level of physical activity.

Less is Definitely More
Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a less invasive treatment option for women who suffer from fibroids. Attend this seminar to learn more about this important therapy.
Designed to block blood flow to the fibroids, causing them to shrink, UFE may alleviate the often-debilitating symptoms that fibroids cause – generally with less risk, less pain and less recovery time than surgical treatments currently available. Studies have shown that 78 to 94 percent of women who have fibroid embolization experience significant or total relief of heavy bleeding and other symptoms.
