The Jewish Hospital Emergency Department

Serving Cincinnati's Northeast suburbs, The Jewish Hospital emergency department helps save lives in major emergencies or minor traumas. Conveniently located in Kenwood, the emergency department's services include a Fast Track area for the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, along with a fully equipped trauma rooms for more emergent cases. It also has features such as the decontamination room for patients involved in chemical spills or who have highly infectious diseases, and a helipad, should there be a need to transport a critically ill or injured patient via Air Care.

A leader in technology, The Jewish Hospital has been recognized for its outstanding cardiovascular capabilities, including cardiac catheterization and open heart surgery services. In addition, several of the emergency medicine physicians at Jewish are on the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Stroke Team, which has made major contributions in the areas of stroke treatment and prevention. The emergency department staff also utilizes innovative techniques such as bedside registration, point-of-care testing and digital radiography to ensure rapid and quality care.

Our Physicians and Staff

The Jewish Hospital emergency department staff views each patient as an individual and cares for him or her with compassion and respect.

Our physicians are emergency medicine residency-trained and board-certified in emergency medicine, and our nurses are specially trained in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and trauma nurse core courses. The emergency medicine physician oversees the care of every patient.

Registered nurses (R.N.s), physician assistants (P.A.s) and patient care assistants (P.C.A.s) are also part of the patient care team. They work closely together with the physicians to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality care.
