On-going SupportMore than any other type of bariatric surgery, Gastric Banding patients strongly benefit from coming to on-going support groups. Research shows that when Gastric Banding patients continue to stay connected to a support group for the first year after surgery weight losses are greatly improved. The Center offers on-going support groups for Gastric Banding patients and another group for Gastric Bypass Patients. These groups are run by a Counselor. Typically patients find they need a place to come and get ideas from others as well as support for their emerging lifestyle. Groups are held on Saturday mornings. Gastric Bypass support group meets from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Gastric Banding group meets from 11:00 am to noon.
